§ MR. HERBERT LEWISI beg to ask the Attorney General whether he is aware of the difficulties that have arisen, particularly of recent years, in Wales, in consequence of the liability of a gift of land as a site for a public school to be defeated by the death of the donor within 12 months after the execution of the deed of conveyance; and whether the Government will introduce a Measure enabling limited owners to make indefeasible gifts of real property for the purpose of education and recreation?
§ THE ATTORNEY GENERAL (Sir RICHARD WEBSTER, Isle of Wight)I am not aware that the provisions of the Mortmain Acts have given rise to any difficulty. In my opinion they are salutary provisions, and I do not think that any sufficient case is made out to justify an amendment of the law.
