HC Deb 20 March 1896 vol 38 c1470
MR. DAVID THOMAS (Merthyr Tydvil)

I beg to ask the Secretary to the Treasury, whether the Commissioners of Customs received a letter of inquiry addressed to them by the abstractors in the Statistical Office on the 30th October last; and, if so, what is the reason of the delay in replying thereto.

MR. HANBURY

The Board of Customs received the letter on 4th November last. Their views with regard to the whole subject of the future establishment of the Statistical Office, of which the applicants form a part, have been reported to the Treasury, who are now considering the matter.
