§ THE FIRST LORD OF THE TREASURY (MR. A. J. BALFOUR,) Manchester, E.In answer to my hon. Friend, I have to say there is no truth in the 716 report mentioned by him. The Government of this country has not been approached by Germany on the subject of an international monetary agreement. We should be willing to consider, in conjunction with the Indian Government, the reopening of the mints in India if such a measure could be made part of a satisfactory scheme of currency reform.
