HC Deb 04 May 1894 vol 24 c372
MR. DIAMOND (Mouaghan, N.)

I beg to ask the Secretary for Scotland whether, in view of the requirements demanded by the Scotch Education Code from Standards IV. and V., he will give instructions that the additional arithmetical work imposed by the New Code shall not be enforced this year, seeing that a number of schools liable to early examinations would be placed at a serious disadvantage thereby?

SIR G. TREVELYAN

Instructions will be given that, until the end of the year, due consideration will be shown in view of the changes in the requirements as regards arithmetic.
