I beg to ask the Secretary to the Admiralty if he can state approximately the number of blue-jackets who have taken their discharge at the expiration of their first term of service during teach of the last five years?

The numbers for the Fleet are as follows:—1888–89, 484; 1889–90, 410; 1890–91, 369; 1891–2, 388; 1892–93, 374; or 23 per cent. fewer discharges last year than in 1888–89.
