MORLEYThe Commissioners of National Education regretted they had no funds at their disposal out of which to give extra remuneration for the additional work imposed upon their staff consequent on the introduction of the Act of 1892. The Commissioners are now preparing a scheme for submission to the Treasury which would enable them to award extra remuneration in certain emergencies. It is not true, I am informed, that any threat of dismissal was ever made to a clerk under the circumstances mentioned.
