HC Deb 06 July 1893 vol 14 c959
SIR R. TEMPLE (Surrey, Kingston)

I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he will be so good as to state to the House the decision of the Turkish Government regarding the Angora prisoners?

SIR E. GREY

We have been informed by telegraph that the Court of Cassation has confirmed the sentences, but that the Sultan has pardoned M. Thoumaïan and M. Kayayan. These two prisoners will be liberated at once, but will have to leave the country and go where they choose. It is expected that some other sentences also will be revised, but no further decisions have been announced to us.
