HC Deb 06 July 1893 vol 14 c959
MR. HOLLAND (Salford, N.)

I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether it is a fact that a new and greatly-reduced tariff will come into operation on the 13th instant between Servia on the one hand and Germany and Austria-Hungary on the other; and, if so, whether Her Majesty's Government will take steps to obtain at least an equally favourable tariff for British goods?

SIR E. GREY

A new Treaty is being negotiated with Servia, and it is expected that it will be signed within a very few days. It contains a most favoured nation clause, by which the United Kingdom will receive the advantages of any reduced tariff between Servia and other countries.
