§ SIR T. ESMONDEI beg to ask the President of the Board of Trade if he can state when the Board of Trade Inspector will inspect the new railway from Killorglin to Cahirciveen; and if the Inspector, before passing the line, will take into account the repeated objections which have been made by the people of Killorglin to the level crossing on the railway at the entrance to the town?
§ MR. MUNDELLAThe Board of Trade will arrange for an inspection of the line as soon as the statutory application is received; but my hon. Friend should understand that the level crossing is authorised not by the Board of Trade, but by the West Kerry (Killorglin and Valencia) Railway Order, 1891, made by the Lord Lieutenant in Council. By that Order the crossing is to be constructed to the satisfaction of the County Surveyor, subject to such alterations in the original plans and sections as may be prescribed by the Board of Trade.
