HC Deb 10 April 1893 vol 10 c1816
MR. A. C. MORTON (Peterborough)

I beg to ask the President of the Board of Agriculture whether the question of the reclamation of slob lands on tidal rivers and other places could be considered by the proposed Committee on Agricultural Depression?

THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF AGRICULTURE (MR. H. GARDNER,) Essex, Saffron Walden

My own impression is that the subject to which my hon. Friend refers would not naturally fall within the scope of the proposed inquiry, but the question is one which it would be for the Committee themselves to determine. If they considered that it had sufficient relation to the general subject committed to them, there would be no reason why they should not investigate it.
