HC Deb 10 April 1893 vol 10 c1815
MR. W. F. D. SMITH (Strand, Westminster)

I beg to ask the Postmaster General whether he proposes to make arrangements for the quicker transport of mails between Gibraltar and London, as the distance can now be covered in 52 hours viâ the new Algeciras Railway?

MR. A. MORLEY

I have for some time been in communication with the Spanish Postal Administration on this subject, and the Gibraltar mails will be conveyed by the new Algeciras Railway as soon as the local arrangements for its use, over which I have no control, have been completed. Further representations have just been made to the Spanish Administration, asking for an early settlement of the question.
