The Speaker

informed the House that lie had attended her Majesty with the Address of the House, to which her Majesty had been pleased to return the following most gracious answer:—

"Gentlemen—I return you my hearty thanks for this dutiful and affectionate address.

"Your congratulations on the birth of the Prince, my son, are cordially received by me as a proof of your loyal attachment to my person and Government.

"Tile happiness of my people is the first object of my care, and you may rely on my co-operation in every measure which is conducive to the promotion of their welfare."

Her Majesty's answer was ordered to be entered on the journals.
