§ Mr. Lathamasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) whether he will list those countries which are members of the League of Arab States, of which any passport holders may enter the United Kingdom without also obtaining a visa;
(2) whether he will outline his powers available to prevent a visit to the United Kingdom by any person purporting to hold a passport issued by a member country of the League of Arab States which would not also require an accompanying visa and whose presence is riot considered by him to be conducive to the public good.
§ Mr. WaddingtonThe countries whose nationals require visas for the United Kingdom are shown in the 547W appendix to the Statement of Changes in the Immigration Rules (HC 169). Any person, whether a visa national or not, who is subject to control under the Immigration Act 1971 requires the leave of an immigration officer to enter the United Kingdom. Any passenger subject to control except the wife and child under 18 of a person settled in the United Kingdom may be refused leave to enter on the ground that his exclusion is conducive to the public good.
