HC Deb 27 March 1947 vol 435 c214W
25. Sir R. Young

asked the Minister of Education what amendments have been made to the Burnham scale for teachers from emergency training colleges; why these alterations have been made; and whether similar concessions are contemplated for newly-qualified teachers in mitigation of the hardship imposed on many of them by one increment in every three years over 20 years' service.

Mr. Tomlinson

No amendments have been made to the Burnham salary scales affecting teachers from Emergency Training Colleges, and the last part of the Question, therefore, does not appear to arise. If my hon. Friend will let me have further particulars of the point he has in mind I will look into it further.
