HC Deb 31 July 1974 vol 878 c319W
Mr. Bates

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what is the number of miles of public highway which have a speed restriction of less than 30 m.p.h.

Mr. Mulley

Speed limits of less than 30 mph have been approved on roads totalling some two miles in length under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1967. I regret that the mileage of such restrictions under other enactments is not readly ascertainable.
