HC Deb 31 July 1974 vol 878 c319W
Mr. Stephen Ross

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he is satisfied that staff at present employed in carrying out repairs and improvements in the precincts of the Houses of Parliament are adequately vetted and checked before being allowed on the premises.

Mr. Charles R. Morris

I am satisfied that all staff of my Department employed on repairs and improvements in the precincts are subjected to appropriate vetting procedures. Contractors' staff work under close supervision, but I have no doubt that the adequacy of these arrangements will be taken into account in the review of security announced by my right hon. Friend the Lord President on 25th July 1974.
