asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many houses completed by local authorities and new towns in England and Wales to the most recent convenient date are (a) five storeys high,(b) six or more storeys high.

Between January 1968 and March 1974 local authorities and new towns in England and Wales reported completing 138,000 dwellings in buildings of five or more storeys. Information for earlier years is not available. Local authorities and new towns do not report the numbers of completions in buildings of six or more storeys.
