That this House agrees with the recommendations in the Second Report from the Select Committee on Standards in Public Life (House of Commons Paper No. 816) relating to—

  1. (1) the recording of deputations in the Register of Members' Interests (paragraph 31); and
  2. (2) the cessation of paid advocacy (paragraph 54).

And the following amendments thereto:

  1. (a), in line 4, leave out paragraph (1).
  2. (b), in line 6, at end add
'and further that a Member with a paid interest should not initiate or participate in, including attendance, a delegation where the problem affects only the body from which he has a paid interest.'.

(d), in line 6, at end add `and further that a Member with a paid interest should not engage in correspondence about a subject which affects only the body from which he has a paid interest.'.
