§ Mrs. Llin Golding (Newcastle-under-Lyme)This petition of 740 signatures was collected within two hours last Saturday morning in my constituency of Newcastle-under-Lyme and shows the opposition to the Staffordshire ambulance service becoming a trust. It says:
To the honourable the Commons of the United Kingdom and Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Parliament assembled. The humble petition of people living in Staffordshire shewethThat there is great concern over the proposals to make the Staffordshire ambulance service a self-governing trust.Wherefore your Petitioners pray that your Honourable House take steps to prevent the Staffordshire ambulance service from becoming a trust after the holding of public meetings at which our discontent can be heard.And your petitioners, as in duty bound, will ever pray, etc.I beg to ask leave to present the petition.
