§ Mr. Keith Vaz (Leicester, East)I wish to present a petition on behalf of Dr. Margaret Scott of 8 Vicarage lane, Humberstone, Chris Mauglan of 4 Vicarage lane, Humberstone and Dr. Roger James of 25 Stanley drive, Humberstone and 350 other local residents who are protesting about the proposed Jelson's development in Humberstone village. The city council refused planning permission before the development, but the developers, by their actions, destroyed the wildlife of the land and bulldozed it. The petition states:
Wherefore, your Petitioners pray that your Honourable House encourage the Secretary of State for Environment to uphold the decision of the Leicester City Council which in December refused Jelson's building proposal. And your Petitioners, as in duty bound, will ever pray.
