HC Deb 18 June 1990 vol 174 cc774-5

10 pm

Mr. Harry Cohen (Leyton)

I wish to present a petition, which says: To the Honourable the Commons of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland in Parliament assembled. The Humble Petition of The Stop the M11 Link Road Action Campaign sheweth: That the A12 Hackney Wick to M11 Link Road will be injurious to the health and well being of the Petitioners insofar as it will cause homelessness through their homes being demolished with in many instances no replacement being offered, it will cause ill health through noise and pollution and will be unfavourable to the community at large. Wherefore your Petitioners pray that your honourable House will seek an assurance from The Right Hon. Member The Secretary of State for Transport that he will show as much leadership in cancelling the A12 Hackney Wick to M11 Link Road as was shown in cancelling the East London Assessment Studies Options. It is signed by 70 affected residents. I share the concerns that they express and consider that my constituents have been badly treated by the Department of Transport.

To lie upon the Table.
