HC Deb 17 February 1989 vol 147 c617
Miss Ann Widdicombe (Maidstone)

I have the honour to present a petition signed by 1,800 of my constituents who are worried about the extension of Sunday trading and the effect that it will have on that day of rest, family life, the community and worship. The petition reads: Wherefore the Petitioners pray that your Honourable House do safeguard the uniqueness of the whole of Sunday, both through the requirements of the law, and through the enforcement of the same. And your petitioners as in duty bound will ever pray, etc.

To lie upon the Table.
