§ Order for Second Reading read.
§ Mr. Deputy Speaker (Mr. Harold Walker)Second Reading what day? No day named. [Interruption.] Order. Hon. Members who are leaving the Chamber should do so quickly and quietly, because there is still business to discuss.
§ Mr. Andrew Faulds (Warley, East)On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker. Because of the noise, I did not hear you read the title of my Bill. Is it possible to repeat it?
§ Mr. Deputy SpeakerThe hon. Member did not hear me read the title of the Bill, no doubt for two reasons, the first being that I did not read it; the Clerk did. In any case, objection was taken. Does the hon. Member wish to give a date for Second Reading?
§ Mr. FauldsI should like to give a date, if that can be chosen. If the Bill has been objected to, what is the procedure?
§ Mr. Tony Banks (Newham, North-West)You give another date, you fool.
§ Mr. Deputy SpeakerOrder. The hon. Member gives another date. If he wishes to do that, will he kindly do so now, so that we can proceed? Second reading what day?
§ Mr. Deputy SpeakerDid I hear the hon. Member say Friday next?
§ Mr. FauldsOn a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker. It is difficult to proceed with the proper business when on my right I have a young colleague who has diarrhoeic loquaciousness on every occasion and when there is such a hubbub in the rest of the House that I cannot hear what is happening. I should like to pursue the Bill on the first convenient date available.
§ Second Reading deferred till Friday next.
