§ 66. Mr. Deakinsasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what amount the United Kingdom will contribute to the International Planned Parenthood Federation in 1985–86.
§ Mr. RaisonWe have agreed to contribute £3.75 million to the International Planned Parenthood Federation in 1985.
§ Mr. DeakinsThe Minister must be aware of the total withdrawal of funding to the IPPF next year by the United States. Will he bear that shortfall in mind, as the IPPF contributes to many valuable programmes in the developing world and it would be appalling if that work had to be substantially reduced?
§ Mr. RaisonI am aware of the cut in support from the United States, but the £3.75 million to which I have referred is an increase from £3 million in 1984, so I believe that we are doing our bit.
