HC Deb 28 June 1984 vol 62 c1173
Mr. Roland Boyes (Houghton and Washington)

On a point of order, Mr. Speaker. Are you aware that the inquiry team investigating the Morpeth train crash will report to the Department of Transport tomorrow? This is the last opportunity for the appropriate Minister to make a statement to the House about what he said earlier this week. Do you not believe, as I do, that he has a moral obligation to the House, and to the train driver and his family, to make it absolutely clear that the inquiry team must be free, fair and independent and take no notice of the Minister's remarks earlier this week?

Mr. Speaker

Order. There were questions to the Leader of the House on that matter, and the hon. Gentleman will have heard what was said. I have nothing to add to what I said yesterday and the day before.
