HC Deb 07 February 1984 vol 53 c773
Mr. Peter Snape (West Bromwich, East)

On a point of order, Mr. Speaker. Yesterday, in exchanges on question 11, in a supplementary question I attributed certain figures to a conversation that I and my hon. Friend the Member for Kingston upon Hull, East (Mr. Prescott) had had with the general manager of British Rail southern region. I also attributed to the general manager — according to Hansard, at least—remarks that I made about southern region commuters paying Pullman prices for cattle truck conditions."—[Official Report, 6 February 1984; Vol. 53, c. 593.] May I make it plain that the latter remarks were entirely my own and did not arise out of the meeting to which I had referred earlier? I intend to communicate that view and also an apology to the general manager of British Rail southern region.

Mr. Speaker

I thank the hon. Member — it is typical of him.
