HC Deb 15 March 1982 vol 20 cc122-38

Motion made, and Question, That the Vehicles (Excise) Act 1971 and the Vehicles (Excise) Act (Northern Ireland) 1972 shall have effect with the amendments set out below. But this Resolution shall not authorise the making of amendments which would result in different provisions being in force in different parts of Great Britain. And it is hereby declared that it is expedient in the public interest that this Resolution should have statutory effect under the provisions of the Provisional Collection of Taxes Act 1968.

(1) In the said Acts of 1971 and 1972—

  1. (a) for the provisions of Part II of Schedules 1 to 5 (annual rates of duty) there shall be substituted the provisions set out below;
  2. (b) in section 16 (trade licences) for "£35" and "£7" there shall be substituted respectively "£40" and "£8".

(2) Paragraph (1) above has effect in relation to licences taken out after 9th March 1982.
