Before I call the first amendment, I have been asked whether it will be in order to refer to the current industrial dispute affecting British Railways. Of course, it will be in order to discuss the consequences to British Rail finances of the dispute and the importance that hon. Members attach to a settlement. However, I do not consider that the Bill provides an appropriate opportunity to discuss the details of the dispute.
