Resolved, That an humble Address be presented to Her Majesty, that she will be graciously pleased to give directions that there be laid before this House a return of the expenses of each candidate at the General Election of May 1979 in the United Kingdom as transmitted to the returning officers pursuant to the Representation of the People Act 1949, and of the number of votes polled by each candidate, the description of each candidate, the number of polling districts and stations, the number of electors, the number of postal votes and the number of rejected ballot papers.—[Mr. Whitelaw.]
