§ Mr. RidleyOn a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker. I rose to catch your eye on the money resolution relating to the Public Lending Right Bill. You again chose not to see me, just as you chose not to see the hon. Member for Nottingham, West (Mr. English) earlier.
Mr. Deputy SpeakerI did not call the hon. Gentleman because I did not see him rise. I put the Question and no one rose.
§ Mr. RidleyOn a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker. I must tell you that earlier the hon. Member for Nottingham, West was on his feet trying to catch your eye at one minute before four o'clock. When the money resolution was called—
Mr. Deputy SpeakerOrder. Let me put the hon. Gentleman right. It was within one minute of four o'clock—less than 20 seconds before four o'clock in fact—that the hon. Member for Nottingham, West (Mr. English) rose.
The hon. Member for Cirencester and Tewkesbury (Mr. Ridley) says that he failed to catch my eye when I put the money resolution. That is correct. I regret that I did not see him and I therefore put the Question at the appropriate moment.
