Queen's Recommendation having been signified—

Resolved,

That, for the purposes of any Act of the present Session to extend the functions of the Independent Television Authority, renamed the Independent Broadcasting Authority, so as to include the provision of local sound broad- casting services, it is expedient to authorise—

  1. (1) the payment out of moneys provided by Parliament—
    1. (a) of advances to the Authority to defray capital expenditure and to provide working capital in connection with the provision of local sound broadcasting services, subject to a limit of £2 million on the amount for the time being outstanding by way of principal in respect of such advances;
    2. (b) of any increase attributable to that Act in the sums so payable under any other enactment;
  2. (2) the payment into the Consolidated Fund of any sums required to be so paid by virtue of that Act.—[Mr. Patrick Jenkin.]
