HC Deb 31 March 1971 vol 814 cc1498-9
Mr. Lawson

With permission, Mr. Speaker, I wish to make a personal statement.

Yesterday during Questions to the Prime Minister, I asserted that several members of the Scottish Economic Council had left in anger during a meeting with the Prime Minister. I have subsequently learned that I was mistaken. Those members certainly showed their anger, but I understand that nobody left the meeting during the Prime Minister's speech. For that reason, Mr. Speaker, I wish to express my regret at having made that statement.

Mr. Speaker

I am sure the House will be obliged to the hon. Gentleman.
