HC Deb 30 June 1971 vol 820 cc385-6
25. Mr. David Clark

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will pay an early official visit to the Colne Valley constituency.

The Secretary of State for the Environment (Mr. Peter Walker)

I have no such plans at present.

Mr. Clark

I am sorry that the Minister is not coming to Colne Valley since I hoped that he would have the opportunity to meet representatives of the urban district because, as he knows—[HON. MEMBERS: "Question."]—they are most upset about the discussions his hon. Friends have had with Huddersfield Borough Council. Would he not see a delegation from the urban district to discuss this problem?

Mr. Walker

I assure the hon. Gentleman that any discussions my hon. Friends have had with various authorities will not prejudice submissions made by his urban district council, which will be carefully and objectively considered.
