HC Deb 27 July 1971 vol 822 c209
Q14. Mr. Dalyell

asked the Prime Minister if he is satisfied with the coordination between the Ministry of Defence and the Department of Trade and Industry in the setting up of the Defence Procurement Organisation.

The Prime Minister

Yes, Sir.

Mr. Dalyell

Is there not a major row between the civilian department and the military as to who is to have the key jobs, such as the job of Controller, as defined under the Rayner Committee Report?

The Prime Minister

I had seen that the hon. Gentleman had expressed this view, so I looked into the matter, I find no evidence for his allegations, but if he likes to give me specific evidence of this, of course I will gladly look into it.
