§ 34. Mr. Liptonasked the Attorney-General what has been the result of the investigation he asked the Director of Public Prosecutions to make into the circumstances surrounding the pregnancy and abortion of a 12-year-old girl.
§ The Attorney-GeneralThe Director of Public Prosecutions has considered the police report of their investigations. In his opinion, with which I agree, there is no evidence that any criminal offence was committed in the circumstances of this case.
§ Mr. LiptonI thank the right hon. and learned Gentleman for that reply, which will satisfy the overwhelming majority of sensible people who have, so far as they have been able, studied the circumstances of this unfortunate case. In fact, there never was any case for criminal prosecution in the existing circumstances.
