HC Deb 04 November 1970 vol 805 cc1059-60
6. Mr. James Johnson

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what proposals for future capital developments in Hull he has received from National Freightliners Limited.

Mr. Peyton

None, Sir.

Mr. Johnson

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that anxiety has been expressed about the long-term future of the terminal in West Hull? Since the major part of our deep-water dock is on the east side of Hull, will he consider the possibility of establishing a mini-terminal to provide additional facilities on the east side of the city?

Mr. Peyton

This is a matter for the National Freight Corporation and not for me. I have no doubt that the Chairman of that Corporation will have taken note of the hon. Gentleman's remarks.
