§ 8. Dr. Stuttafordasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will make a statement on future plans for the construction of dual carriageways on the A11 road in Norfolk.
§ Mr. Michael HeseltineWith permission, I will circulate a list in the OFFICIAL REPORT.
§ Mr. StuttafordIs my hon. Friend aware that although Norfolk is the fourth largest county in the country, it has less dual carriageway than any other county and that this is probably a contributory cause to its having the lowest wage structure in the country?
§ Mr. HeseltineMy hon. Friend may consider that the list of schemes which I have announced give an indication of what we have in mind, though I assure him, on the wider aspects which he mentioned, that they are very much in our minds.
§ Mr. LaneWill the Minister bear in mind the fact that there is strong feeling in East Anglia generally that during the 1970s this part of England is due a higher priority and a greater share of the total national road programme?
§ Mr. HeseltineI will certainly bear that in mind, but there is no part of England which does not feel exactly the same.
