HC Deb 16 March 1970 vol 798 cc33-4

58. Mr. Golding asked the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications what plans he has to seek agreement with the Government of the Isle of Man to provide for the transfer of the administration of the telecommunications services in the Isle of Man from the Post Office to the Isle of Man Government.

Mr. Stonehouse

Discussions about this are already in progress.

Mr. Golding

Is my right hon. Friend aware that great uncertainty exists among staff because they had thought that the Isle of Man administration was to remain under the British Post Office

Mr. Stonehouse

I will bear that in mind. I am sure that the Post Office itself is concerned to ensure that the negotiations are concluded quickly.
