HC Deb 09 July 1970 vol 803 cc843-4
Q9. Mr. Hannan

asked the Prime Minister whether he will make an official visit to Glasgow.

The Prime Minister

I have no immediate plans to do so, Sir.

Mr. Hannan

If the Prime Minister goes to Glasgow, will he direct the attention of the Tory-controlled local authority to its declining housing programme at a time when housing records are being broken in the rest of Scotland? Secondly, as regards the special assistance which he proposes to give to Glasgow, will he ensure that it is devoted to such purposes and not to reducing the rates, as was done with the special assistance from a previous Administration?

The Prime Minister

As my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Scotland said yesterday, he is already in consultation with the City Council about these matters.
