HC Deb 10 March 1969 vol 779 c971
37. Mr. Newens

asked the Minister of Transport what plans he has made to provide ambulances and other vehicles attached to the emergency services with access to the proposed M11 motorway in the vicinity of St. Margaret's Hospital, Epping.

Mr. Bob Brown

The facilities for access to the motorway by emergency services generally are being discussed with the police and the other authorities concerned.

Mr. Newens

Will my hon. Friend ensure that full account is taken of the position of the new casualty department at St. Margaret's Hospital, because if the present accesses planned were used by ambulances attending accidents taking place in the vicinity of Epping very long journeys would be occasioned which might make the difference between life and death for the victims of the accidents?

Mr. Brown

I can give my hon. Friend the assurance he seeks.
