HC Deb 10 March 1969 vol 779 c953
17. Sir C. Osborne

asked the Minister of Transport how soon he expects the Government's consideration of the Humberside Study to be completed; and how soon thereafter action will be taken on its recommendations, especially those concerning the Humber Bridge.

Mr. Bob Brown

It is not possible for my right hon. Friend to make such forecasts, which must await the publication and consideration of the report.

Sir C. Osborne

But at least can the hon. Gentleman say when a decision will be made on the actual siting of the new River Trent crossing, because without that the local authorities cannot get on with their own planning? Cannot he give a promise as to when this important development will take place?

Mr. Brown

I cannot go further than my original reply. We must await the Government's consideration of the study.
