Queen's Recommendation having been signified—

Resolved, That, for the purposes of any Act of the present Session to abolish the office of master of the Post Office, distribute the business conducted by the holder thereof amongst authorities constituted for the purpose and make provision consequential on the abolition of that office and the distribution of the business so conducted, it is expedient to authorise—

  1. (a) the charge on, and the issue out of, the Consolidated Fund of such sums as may be necessary to remunerate the corporation that is to be established, by virtue of that Act, by the style of the Post Office for the rendering by it, without charge, in pursuance of the Representation of the People Act, 1949, of postal or telegraphic services; and
  2. (b) the payment, out of moneys provided by Parliament, of any sums required by the Minister of Housing and Local Government for remunerating that corporation for the issue by it, in England or Wales, of dog licences, licences for dealing in game or licences for killing game.—[Mr. K. Robinson.]
