asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he will consider taking action to register and license poultry packing stations so that they come under the same regulations as other slaughter houses.

I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply which my right hon. Friend gave on 14th October last to the hon. Member for Petersfield (Miss Quennell).—[Vol. 770, c. 40.]

Mr. Murray

Would my hon. Friend not agree that poultry are particularly prone to various diseases, and that they can suffer from tumours which can be cut out, leaving no sign of the disease? Would he think about this whole matter?

We are giving the matter consideration.
