§ 7. Mr. Fortescueasked the Secretary of State for Wales what reply he has sent to the petition from the residents of Rhoscefnhir, Anglesey, against the determination of the Anglesey County Council to destroy certain structures at Caerffynnon, Rhoscefnhir.
§ Mr. Ifor DaviesThe petition formed part of the evidence considered before the decision letter of 29th February, 1968, was sent.
§ Mr. FortescueWhile thanking the hon. Gentleman for that reply, which is not very informative, may I ask him whether he accepts that the occasion of this petition was a protest from the residents of this village against the vendetta being carried on by the Anglesey County Council and the local rural district council against my constituent who has a holiday home there? Would he agree that this treatment of a man from Liverpool compares very badly with the treatment which Welsh men and women always receive from the warm-hearted people of my constituency?
§ Mr. DaviesI cannot for one moment accept the word "vendetta". The petition concerned a case which goes back a few years. My right hon. Friend is satisfied that the appeals in connection with this matter have been fully dealt with. The appeals have been subject to two references to the Parliamentary Commissioner 698 for Administration, who found that there was no maladministration.
