§ 55. Mr. Edwin Wainwrightasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science on what date building will commence on the new junior mixed school to replace the old Swinton Fitzwilliam Junior Mixed School.
§ Miss BaconI cannot add to the reply given to my hon. Friend on 24th October.—[Vol. 770, c. 328.]
§ Mr. WainwrightThat Answer was very unsatisfactory. Does my right hon. Friend realise that children at the school are having to walk 400 to 500 yards in inclement weather to a hall for their school meals, and that the present school is very unsatisfactory? Will she do all she can to make certain that the new school will be built in the very near future?
§ Miss BaconWe have to take into account the proposals made to us by local authorities, and no proposal for the replacement of this school has been submitted to me by the local education authority.
