HC Deb 13 June 1967 vol 748 cc299-300
Q2. Mr. Marten

asked the Prime Minister when he proposes to visit Moscow.

The Prime Minister

No date has yet been arranged, Sir.

Mr. Marten

Are not the main points in the communiqué issued after Mr. Kosygin's visit moving rather slowly? Have there been any discussions with the Russians about the visit, because it is a very appropriate time at this very moment?

The Prime Minister

Yes, Sir. There have been discussions. I had a discussion very recently with the Soviet Ambassador on this question. I think that the view of both Mr. Kosygin and myself is that the visit should be timed at whatever time seems most useful and fruitful for the things we shall want to be discussing. As the hon. Member will know, my right hon. Friend the Foreign Secretary was in Moscow two or three weeks ago.
