HC Deb 13 February 1967 vol 741 c96
37. Mr. Dalyell

asked the Lord President of the Council what proposals he has to obtain voluntary agreements for timetabling of Bills under Standing Order No. 43(b) on the experimental basis recommended in paragraph 5 of the First Report from the Select Committee on Procedure.

Mr. Crossman

I have nothing to report at present, but I may have proposals on this topic to put before the House when we have our next debate on procedure.

Mr. Dalyell

Since this Standing Order has not been used, I think, for 20 years, is this not a case for some early experiment?

Mr. Crossman

I think that there is a case for it—a case which I gather is now being considered by the Committee. We must await its Report.
