HC Deb 13 April 1967 vol 744 cc1348-9
12. Mr. E. Rowlands

asked the Secretary of State for Wales why the coastal area between Newport and Cardiff has been omitted from the proposed Severnside Study.

Mrs. White

The whole of this area up to the Cardiff City boundary is included in the Study, and the city's economic and social potential will be taken fully into account.

Mr. Rowlands

Will my hon. Friend also include this area in the physical planning study, since the last two years have shown, in the general controversy over Portbury and the opening of the Severn Bridge and, more recently, the South Wales Docks Board, that this area is an integral part of the Severnside Study and deserves to be included in the physical planning study as well?

Mrs. White

The area concerned between Newport and Cardiff is included.
