HC Deb 24 October 1966 vol 734 c632
33. Mr. van Straubenzee

asked the Minister of Health what representations he received from the Junior Hospital Staff Group in connection with its application to be registered as an association.

Mr. K. Robinson

None, Sir.

Mr. van Straubenzee

There having been no representations, did the Minister think it proper to intervene to try to ensure that this association was not given legal representation? Is this another example of the campaign of petty spite against the unfortunate young doctor?

Mr. Robinson

I do not know what the hon. Gentleman means by intervention, unless he has been reading stories in the newspapers which have been officially denied. I take the view that the proposed title of the company, the British Junior Hospital Doctors Association Limited, could be misleading because membership is not to be limited to British doctors. This apart, I have no views on the registration of this association.
