HC Deb 30 November 1966 vol 737 c445
32. Mr. Blaker

asked the Postmaster-General if he is aware of the recent deterioration in the postal services in the Blackpool area; and what action he is taking to remedy it.

The Postmaster-General (Mr. Edward Short)

We are doing all we can to give a good postal service in the Blackpool area and my inquiries have revealed no sign of a recent deterioration.

Mr. Blaker

Is the right hon. Gentleman not aware that his last few words are at variance with a number of cases which I have sent to him? Can he give us more details of the result of his inquiries? Is he satisfied with the organisation so far as it concerns relations between the Post Office and the railways, for example, and will he give an assurance that the deterioration is temporary?

Mr. Short

I think that the case which the hon. Member raised was the case of Aurum Ambrosium Limited. We believe this to be a case of theft and it is being investigated.
